Appointments
When you call for an appointment, we will gather basic information regarding the difficulties that you, or your child(ren), are having, along with some basic contact information. We will send you a packet of information and rating scales to complete prior to your appointment.
Parking
Parking is limited on the University of Tennessee campus, and for appointments, you are to park in the University Center garage and walk back to the KLASS Center by crossing Andy Holt Avenue. Please bring the ticket that you receive at the entrance of the garage so that we may validate it for you. If you are a University of Tennessee student, you should already have parking arrangements.
What to Expect When You Get Here
Please make your way to the KLASS Center waiting room (426-A) on the 4th floor of the Bailey Education Complex. A student clinician, or other staff member, will come to get you at, or around, the time of your appointment. Our offices are split among floors, so you may complete some components on one floor and complete the evaluation on another floor.
After initial introductions are completed we will discuss confidentiality, the scope of the services, the fees, and try to answer questions prior to obtaining your written consent to complete the desired service. Typically, parents (for child evaluations) will be interviewed by one clinician to obtain a better history of the problems while the child begins the evaluation with another clinician.
Comprehensive evaluations usually begin in the morning, and breaks are scheduled at appropriate times. Since people may be traveling a distance, we like to complete the entire evaluation in a single day. Sometimes this is not possible due to various reasons, so a second session is scheduled as soon as possible to complete the evaluation.
Once the evaluation is completed, we try to schedule you back to review the results within two weeks. A comprehensive report will be completed and mailed within another two weeks, if not presented at the conclusion of the results session.
